Echo

March 17, 2016 – After Kiltepan, we went to visit Echo Valley, where the hanging coffins of Sagada are located. It was a not-so-short downhill and uphill walk in between the “Echo Mountain” and Sagada cemetery. A very needed warm up for the activities that day. Sagada weather is so dope.

Hanging the coffins on mountain cliffs is an ancient funeral practice by the people of Mountain Province. They believe that the practice brings the deceased much closer to heaven/ their ancestral spirit.
